Parineeti Chopra’s next film Meri Pyari Bindu is set for release.

The girl is looking far better than earlier, thinner, younger and meaner. But then she has a story to tell.

“Even I didn’t like the way I looked earlier.

If I were not an actor, it would have still been fine. But then cinema is a visual medium and you need to suit the role properly.

I was playing a young fashionable girl in a film like Kill Dil and if I am overweight I do not suit in that role at all,” she confesses. Kill Dil failed at the box office.

But then it is not just the looks that disturbed the peppy girl. “I had been disturbed and upset about me being overweight for over 12 years or so.  And then I became an actor as well. I wanted to lose weight because I was very unhealthy. I did not have any stamina to do my work and I used to sleep a lot.

I did not have the energy to work for more than four hours. It was taking a toll on my health a lot and hence I decided to take a break from work and find out what exactly was wrong with me,” she explains the reason for the break from the movies.

Parineeti who is also into yoga nowadays, explains that people never understood her emotional needs and looked at her as just a glamour doll. “Having said that a lot of people made my personal and emotional journey into a superficial one. People said that I lost weight just because I wanted to look good on screen.

Well, that was certainly one of the reasons because I am in the entertainment business. But then I wanted to be healthy too,” she signs off.
