Confidently yours: Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan is all over the place and we will see him all over the place long after his most ambitious film Ra.One is unleashed on the public. Recently, he landed up to endorse the soap brand Cinthol at a press conference.
We chatted with him about his confidence in himself, his film, his take on other people’s confidence and his confidence that his rivals’ films will do well too.
Excerpts:
How important do you think is confidence in a man’s personality?
Confidence is nothing but being comfortable with yourself. You should carry yourself well.
Have you ever lost your confidence?
As a public fiqure, we show our confident side in public. We leave our worries and tensions at home. As an actor, we come out and entertain people and try not to show our tension.
Whom would like to gift cinthol to?
Among the young boys, I find Ranbir is full of confidence and energy. When I was new in the industry, I remember Amit ji used to say ‘Yeh jo naye ladke hai bahut confident hain , the way they walk and talk, their education in public dealing. They are confident.’
How confident you are with your film Ra.One?
I am confident about my film. We have worked really hard on it and where there is hard work there will be confidence. We have made this film for entertainment purposes and for the full family. I am 100 per cent confident.
Amitji is confident in this age too – what is your take on him?
His confidence comes with his education. What I have learnt is that people who are educated are confident. Those who educate themselves are confident – Amitji’s personality, apart from his voice and his looks and his immense amount of education give him confidence.
What is the difference between Ra.One and other super heroes?
G.One is a character from the modern world. He uses different powers and takes long leaps. He is made of electricity and I have tried to keep his actions very human. I showed a few scenes from the film to an audience in America. They were surprised that the super hero has a family.
How was it working with Rajinikanth?
I was over whelmed when I shot with Rajni sir. I have never worked with him and now I feel like the movie is complete.
You have endorsed every brand possible. Is there anything left for you to endorse?
I don’t really choose but if I get an opportunity I will. One feels very nice when one has been chosen to endorse a brand.
Your take on Farah Khan’s film?
All the best to all of them, to Sanjay, to Farah and Bela. I wish them all the best.
