New mommy Megan Fox shows Aishwarya Rai how it’s done

Hollywood bombshell Megan Fox flaunted a super-stunning post-baby body after stepping out for her first public outing after the birth of her 10-week-old son Noah.

She looked gorgeous in a figure-hugging, knee-length ivory lace dress, and posed lavishly for the shutterbugs.

Her incredible achievement does put Bollywood mommies in a bad light, especially since Aishwarya Rai's battle with the bulge became a national obsession.

Unlike Megan, Aishwarya didn’t step out until her baby was five months old, and even then her body had undergone a massive change.

At the L’Oreal Parish Femina Women Award in March, she and her mom were honoured, and Ash choose a full-length bright pink Salwar suit for the event, keeping her post-baby flab well covered. The media, however, couldn’t overlook the weight gain.

Her next trips to Dubai and Cannes were further scrutinized for her ballooning figure. At each time, she remained in designer finery but fully covered from head to toe.

In fact, her red carpet appearance at Cannes just further reiterated how she wasn’t afraid to step out in her new body.

"I was comfortable and that's why I've been who I've been. If I did think it was a big deal I would've been in hiding or would've done something about it,” she revealed during her recent interview with Sir David Frost.

The Indian media called her “fat” and “unbecoming of a star”, and lead to an intense public debate, with people taking to the social media to express how they felt. While some supported her, many critiqued her for not taking care of herself.

In fact, Aishwarya wasn’t the only one who was targeted for her post-pregnancy weight gain. Her peer Shilpa Shetty was also hit.

Later, Shilpa backed Ash’s decision to take it easy. “How do you expect a woman to get back into pre-baby shape within three months? It’s not humanly possible,” she had told the Indian media.

The new mommies also found support from Indian writer Shoba De, who defended the Bollywood mommies by saying, “our body frames are different – we have wider hips and curves – so this whole business of looking desperately skinny two weeks after giving birth is a western import.”

Unlike in Hollywood, Bollywood mommies appear far more relaxed about getting back in shape, and aren’t afraid to step out of the spotlight to invest their time in nurturing their newborn.

Both Aishwarya and Shilpa have taken a sabbatical from movies, and are investing their celeb status in other humanitarian causes. Even new-mommy Lara Dutta hasn’t stepped out for a movie project, just yet.

They’ve taken on ads, business and humanitarian causes, projects that need not necessarily need them to get fit.

But in Hollywood, celeb moms perfectly balance their new roles with their professional commitments.

While Victoria juggles mommy-time and a successful fashion business, Angelina accommodates movie offers while managing six kids.

In fact, Hollywood celeb mommies are known for their intense body overhauls post the babies, and that's probably why they get back to their film set and take on work, as soon as they can.

“I only gained 23lbs (10.4 kg) when I was pregnant,” revealed Megan Fox almost explaining how she got back in shape, almost instantly.

Well, there have been many A-lister mommies like Megan, who’ve worked out svelte figures just weeks after giving birth to their babies. From Victoria Beckham to Beyonce, to Angelina Jolie, to Jennifer Garner, to Jessica Alba, they have all wasted no time in slimming down their post-baby fat.

Although many celebs remain secretive about how they achieve their targets, so swiftly, some like Kate Hudson admitted to undertake intense workouts.

“I devoted six hours a day to a vigorous workout regime,” she informed while being interviewed by Star magazine.

There’s also Hilary Duff, who is often seen headed to the gym for her workouts.

The lesser-famous of the Kardashian brood Kourtney also stepped on the treadmill days after giving birth to her second child and paraded in skinny jeans just six-weeks after her baby arrived.
