Rated 'R': Sherlyn vs Poonam hardcore in Bollywood soft porn war

Starlets like Sunny Leone have changed the very landscape of a Bollywood heroine. Following the entrance of Leone and others like Poonam Pandey, Sherlyn Chopra and adult star Priya Rai, Bollywood directors are now writing scripts to cater to the adult audience.

Posters of two adult films, which are likely to be released to a select audience only in India, have been released simultaneously. While Poonam Pandey starrer ‘Nasha’ will release next Summer, Sherlyn’s much awaited film ‘Kamasutra 3D’ will premiere in December, 2013.

These films will decide if there is an overt demand for such films in the Indian market. They will make or break the adult film stars' careers definitely. Having said that, it is imperative to mention her that there is definitely a covert market for such films. However, given the mostly conservative Indian audience, will they choose to openly watch what is definitely not going to be a family film?

While Leone's 'Jism 2' did not fare too badly, the film certainly did not live up to its pre-release hype. Priya Rai's 'Cheerleaders' came and went way back in 2008 without making any dent anywhere.

But Sherlyn Chopra has shot to international fame just by becoming the first Indian woman to shoot for the famous adult magazine ‘Playboy’. She has not tasted much success in Bollywood so far, but the 'Playboy' feature might lead to a few good offers in the future.

Poonam Pandey took to Twitter when no one in Bollywood paid her any attention. In a desperate bid, she announced that she would strip if Dhoni's team won the ICC Cricket World Cup. Dhoni's men did win but she stripped and posted 'naked' pictures on Twitter... much later.

Only time will tell if the desperate acts of these starlets will pay off or will the likes of Sunny Leone have to pack up their stuff from their recently rented penthouse and move back to Canada with their bag and baggage and get back to doing what they did best earlier.
