She’s back!

Bollywood stunner Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has managed to silence critics as she returns to the spotlight shedding her post-baby flab in a stunning avatar for a recent ad shoot.

As brand ambassador for Kalyan Jewellers, Ash is part of the ‘Golden Girl’ campaign, which has released its first print advertisement on its Facebook page, titled Diva.

What appears to be superimposed underwater photography conducted by Shrikumar, the golden-hued image sees the water baby Ash emit a radiant glow, and moreover, visibly several kilos lighter as her dress floats about her.

The image has been welcomed on social media websites, with the jewellery brand’s Facebook page itself inundated with comments, with Zainab Chan writing: “Aishwarya. Very beautiful. It reminds me of her modelling days. She’s getting better and better. So happy to see her back in action.”

Rehana Patel wrote: “Beautiful looking great Aishwarya. Hoping to see a lot more of you on our screens. Welcome back.”

Meanwhile, fans such as Michelle Lee, Nitish S Murthy and Ash Orannaise all welcomed the actress back to the limelight.

The ‘Raavan’ actress will also be making an appearance for the brand she’s endorsing on August 19th in Kerala, which her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan also lends his face to.

The photoshoot couldn’t have come at a more opportune time for Ash, who has been the butt of criticism for not losing her post pregnancy weight fast enough, after giving birth to her first child, Aaradhya, last November.

Her flab has made headline news globally, while media and members of the Indian film fraternity giving her hard time with sly comments, prompting even pa-in-law senior Bachchan to come out and defend her.

Even at the recent trailer launch of the film ‘Heroine’, which Ash was dropped from unceremoniously when she announced she was pregnant last year, step in Kareena Kapoor didn’t waste the opportunity to take a dig at Ash in front of the media.

When quizzed by the press how different would the film have been if Ash had stuck with the film, Kapoor chose to reply: “It is very unfair to compare us, we’re from two different generations.”

However, the joke has been on the Kapoor lass since, considering the generation gap she’s referring to simply place her and Ash seven year apart; Kapoor is born in 1980, while Ash in 1973.

The duo even made their acting debuts three years apart, with Ash in the Tamil film ‘Iruvar’ in 1997, while Kapoor hit the big screen with Ash’s now husband Abhishek Bachchan in 2000’s ‘Refugee’.

Whatever her reasoning, the competition in Bollywood looks ready to heat up very soon it seems.
