Director Aanand L Rai riding on the success of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ has decided to come up with its sequel. The romantic comedy will be produced by Eros international.

'Tanu Weds Manu' released this February, was a light-hearted entertainer with the right concoction of drama, romance and humour, which was not at all slapstick.

Sources within the crew tell us the sequel will retain the original star performers R Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles. Madhavan who played an NRI doctor earned his status back as a lead actor with his wonderfully restrained yet forceful act. Kangana put her best foot forward for a role which was bold and full of energy. The miss-matching characters appealed to the audiences, too – reason why the sequel now looks promising.

The music was a high point for this rom-com. Budding composer Krsna with a relatively new lyricist Rajshekhar delivered the needful. The duo struck the right note with vociferous Punjabi-folk song to soft flow of romantic tune to the magical Sufi music. The compositions were a treat to music lovers - rhythmic and divine. Hence expectations are high this time around, too.

For the sequel the same story will be carried forward but definitely with a twist. Sources tell us the story is still a work in progress. The film will hit the floor early next year.

Hope ‘Tanu Weds Manu 2’ will pull the right heartstrings with the audience this time as well.
