It’s from the boxing ring to wedding ring for world renowned boxer and British national of Pakistani origin Amir Khan this week – when he ties the knot in a glittering ceremony in New York City.

Amir Khan wedding to American national of Pakistani origin Faryal Makhdoum is set to be a knockout event in the NY calendar.

According to Pakistani media reports, Khan is now engaged to the stunning Faryal and the marriage is set to take place on May 31.

They will wed in American student Faryal’s home city of New York at the glitzy five star hotel the Waldorf Astoria, before heading back to Amir’s hometown of Bolton for a massive wedding party or waleema for 4,000 people in the summer.

The 26-year-old boxer posted a picture of him and his friends, learning Bollywood dance steps to surprise his guests at the party.

The Bolton-born ace tweeted: “I’m now on way to my gym. The boys are practicing a dance for the mehndi and wedding. This is going 2be fun.”

The couple only met last July, but have had a whirlwind romance and earlier this year held a glitzy engagement party in front of 1,000 people at the Reebok Stadium, home of Amir’s beloved Bolton Wanderers.

They’ve had a long-distance relationship so far with Faryal based in New York, but Amir has pledged his future to Bolton and aims to welcome his bride to a new life in the North West.

Families of both the bride and grooms are busy shopping for the big day.

The announcement of the date was made by the bride on a social website.

The party is on as Khan has also released photos of “dholki” function and dance practice with friends at the gym on the social networking website.
