Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie not married - not yet

Hollywood's gorgeous super couple - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are not getting married - not yet.

Well before you think the two have pulled a Tom-Katie stunt hold on... the wedding is just delayed.

Speculations were at fever pitch that Brad and Angelina are getting married this weekend at Chateau Miraval, their ultra-private estate in the south of France.

The delay has got nothing to do with 'Brangelina', there's no love lost, but blame it on French law and its technicalities.

Not only were the wedding rumours false, but that it is actually against the law in France to get married outside of the town hall.
 
Local newspaper Var Matin categorically denied a France 3 TV report that the wedding could take place on Saturday and village hall staff said no bans had been published.

Security was tight at the 17th-century Chateau Miraval in the Var, which the couple, dubbed 'Brangelina' by celebrity media, bought in 2008.

No frantic preparations were visible, according to a Reuters reporter at the scene.

"We don't know anything about it," Patrick Mareschi, deputy culture secretary of the nearby village of Correns, told Reuters.

"Under French law couples have to get married at the town hall. Unlike with a religious wedding, there's no way a couple can hold a civil ceremony at their own home," he added.

Which is pretty much what the photo agency X17 found out. It grumbled on its website:

"We sent an X17 photographer all the way down to the south of France – it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere – to check out Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's chateau Miraval to see just what's going on and ... drumroll, please ... there's NOTHING going on!" the site says.

Since Pitt and Jolie announced their engagement earlier in April this year, rumors have been swirling that they could tie the knot this summer at their $60 million French estate.

Humph! So all the planning of getting married in some "rustic medieval grand Chateau" going kaput?

Brad and Angie wanted to a civil marriage and not a religious one in their French Chateau - now 'Brangelina' one cannot have the cake and the cream as well.

So the world will have to wait more till the Hollywood power couple says their "I do's."
