Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is on a flight from Mumbai to Dubai, but informed sources have already warned the press here in the UAE that the Indian beauty and lead actress of highly anticipated Bollywood film, Action Replayy “has cancelled all interviews”.
However, it has been learned that the Bachchan daughter-in-law has cancelled all her press interviews, with the speculative reason given that she is feeling unwell.
Unless it is case of a dodgy Indian curry that is slowly but surely taking out every cast member of Action Replayy, rumour mill is gringing to grist the possibility of a classic Ash diva tantrum because she is pregnant.
Emirates 24|7 also just learned from reliable sources that actress Neha Dhupia will not be attending the screening at Grand Cineplex, Dubai as she too is ill.
The exact nature of her sickness could not be determined at the time.
While fans of the voluptuous actress will be disappointed, at least Akshay Kumar who is also on the flight will not disappoint his fans.
The premiere, which is expected to kick off at 7pm tonight, has been organised by Star Middle East television network, Sunshine Pictures Pvt Ltd, Shree International and Damas.
Directed by Vipul Shah, of Namastay London fame, Action Replayy is a sci-fi romcom that sees Kumar and Bachchan play a bickering elderly married couple that regrets wasting their lifetimes with each other.
Their son, played by Aditya Roy Kapoor, who has turned into a commitment phobe because of his traumatic childhood, goes back in time to make his parents fall in love with each other.
Action Replayy will go head-to-head with the other Diwali release this weekend, Golmaal 3, with all hopes pegged on these two films to kill the box office lull of last month, which saw dismissal films such as Aakrosh, Hissss, Daayein Baayein, among others.
Kumar and Bachchan are leaving no stone unturned to ensure Action Replayy does big business, with the latter, who celebrated her 37th birthday on Monday, also apparently skipped her celebrations with the family – father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan and husband Abhishek Bachchan – to hit the road with the cast and crew of her new film.
Here’s hoping that Dubai suits her delicate constitution.
