Aamir Khan has not fought with director Reema… yet

Aamir Khan might be the darling of the masses, but when it comes to his movie directors and producers, there’s a contrasting, more intrusive image that’s highlighted.

Unlike his inglorious reputation, his latest tiff with ‘Talaash’ director Reema Kagti over being unhappy with the movie’s edit was fabricated.

“This news report is just a figment of (Indian reporter) Vickey Lalwani's imagination,” revealed an insider.

“The media here (in India) loves to sensationalise. Aamir is an easy target also,” the source told Emirates 24|7.

There were issues over the delay of the release date, with Aamir’s sensational TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ taking priority, but that’s resolved and the new date has been locked to November 30.

“The movie, which also stars Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji, was originally scheduled to be released in June,” reported a film journalist.

‘Talaash’ co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani also rubbishes the rumours of the Aamir-Reema rift over twitter.

“No truth there in the rift between Reema & Aamir… We r working on the Theatrical trailer and the Movie is releasing on 30th Nov,” he tweeted.

According to the rumour mills, Aamir had called the entire ‘Talaash’ team (Reema, co-producers Ritesh and Farhan Akhtar) over to his place, and insisted that some sequences of the second half be re-shot and that he wanted to sit in for the editing.

When Reema refused, it led to an ugly spat.

There were even talks about Aamir’s next movie schedule, YashRaj’s ‘Dhoom3’, hindering the promotions of ‘Talaash’, much to the dismay of its director.

“As for Aamir shooting non-stop for ‘Dhoom3’, yes, he is.

“But he's back in India in the last week of October, so we will have an entire month to promote our film.
Isn't one month of solid promotion enough for an Aamir Khan starrer?” Ritesh told a Bollywood website.

This isn’t the first time that Aamir has been involved in fights behind the big screen.

His clashes while playing producer are legendary.

“He’s known to be extremely demanding, intrusive and interfering. It’s his way or the highway, which is why he wants to produce every movie he acts in.

“This way he has complete authority on the movie-making as well,” revealed a media reporter in Mumbai.

Earlier, Aamir ousted director Amole Gupte from ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and took on the role himself after indulging in a bitter war of words.

It was hyped as Aamir’s directorial debut, while insiders claim it was Amole’s work that was advertised as Aamir’s. “Aamir only ghost-directed it,” they said.

‘Peepli Live’ director Anusha Rizvi also was unhappy with producer Aamir and blamed him of stealing the limelight from the cast and crew while promoting the movie.

Aamir also locked horns with lyricist Jaaved Akhar when he proclaimed that actors make movie songs successful.

“Your so-called contribution is nothing but interference. We lyricists would be eternally grateful if you keep your so-called contribution to yourself.

“We manage to do good work not because of, but in spite of your contribution,” Javed reportedly told Aamir.
