The glamour world of Bollywood is known for legendary tales of acting blood lines and filmy family backgrounds. The tinsel town has its fair share of siblings who have appeared in the movie industry.
Some Bollywood celebrities have attained stardom very easily. But when they bring in their siblings into the industry, many have failed miserably. Despite all the family push they remain in the shadow of their more popular siblings. Here is a look at some popular stars and their siblings who are still waiting for their hit:
Kajol and Tanisha Mukherjee
Kajol is one of the most successful actresses in Indian cinema. And she is a treat to watch every time she comes on screen. But unfortunately the same cannot be said about her sister. Tanisha seemed drab and lacked the enthusiasm her sister brought on screen. Her every single movie bomb in the box office. Despite being a star sister and daughter of yesteryear actress Tanuja, Tanisha is still looking for her real break.
Shilpa and Shamita Shetty
Ekta and Tusshar Kapoor
Producer Ekta Kapoor is among the top ranked producers in B-town. With super hits like ‘The Dirty Picture’ and ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’ she has also made an impact on the Silver Screen. She has been the reigning queen of small screen before venturing into Bollywood. Unfortunately, bother Tusshar Kapoor could not make his mark and failed to appeal the audience. His only credible role has been in the ‘Golmaal’ Series where he acts as a mute person. 'The Dirty Picture' also saw Tussher portraying a weak personality. Even though sister's movie broke all records brother could not make his mark.
Aamir and Faisal Khan
Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan is a highly acclaimed star and one of the most admired personalities in the industry. Despite his strong hold in the industry he was unable to help brother Faisal from doom. After being a supporting actor in several films, he finally had a substantial role in ‘Mela’ with brother Aamir in the lead. But in 'Mela' couldn’t bring any joy in his movie career.
Aditya and Uday
Giving hits after hits under the Yash Raj Films banner and guided by father late Yash Chopra, Aaditya is one of the ace filmmakers of Bollywood. Younger brother Uday Chopra assisted Aaditya and father in many films. But when he was elevated to the position of a hero he failed. Despite coming from such a strong background Aditya’s brother Uday Chopra could not charm his audience. The film which gave him some recognition was ‘Dhoom’ and its sequel. But 'Dhoom' is a multi-starrer movie with big star cast and Uday can never be given completely credit for its success.
