Imagine a child born to Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Jackson.

Such a child would undoubtedly have been a musical genius, able to benefit from the talented genes of both Elvis Presley and Jackson, two of the twentieth century's greatest entertainers.

Jackson's ex-wife, who is also Elvis Presley's daughter, now says she wanted to have a baby with him -- but held back because of the uncertain future she felt lay ahead of them.

The singer-songwriter, 42, opened up about her relationship with her ex-husband for the first time since his death last year in an interview with chat show queen Oprah Winfrey.

She said she now regrets not doing enough to save Michael Jackson from death.

“I wish I'd saved him,” she said in an hour-long interview recorded at the home she shares in England with guitarist husband Michael Lockwood, the Daily Mail reported.

“I know it's naive to think that I could've, but I wanted to [do more],” she said, adding that she was in “floods of tears” when she heard about Jackson's death from actor John Travolta.

“I was crying all day. It was the strangest day of my life.”

The King of Pop died last year at age 50 from an overdose of the powerful sedative Propofol and had a history of prescription drug abuse.

Presley also told Winfrey that she suspected Jackson was using drugs. “I didn't really suspect and catch on until just before I filed for divorce,” she said. “There was just an occasion, an incident where he had collapsed and he was in the hospital.”

Though doctors blamed it on a viral infection, Presley said there were several different reports. “I couldn't tell what was happening,” she said. “I couldn't really get a straight answer about what was happening with him, and I think we were all a little bit in the dark.”

She also said she that from the start of their marriage, Jackson pressured her to have a baby with him -- and that she wanted to start a family with him.

“I did want to, but I just wanted to make sure,” she said. “I was looking into the future and thinking, 'I don't ever want to get into a custody battle with him.”

She described the marriage as normal -- and said she felt that Jackson's decision to have a baby with nurse Debbie Rowe was revenge for her refusal to do so.

Jackson and Presley were married from May 1994 to January 1996. Months after they divorced, the entertainer announced he was to be a father.
