Robbie Williams's bride pregnant: reports

Robbie and his actress girlfriend have reportedly signed a pre-nuptial agreement to protect the singer's £80million fortune

Before he married actress Ayda Field on the weekend, Robbie Williams told friends she had had a premonition: “Apparently, she saw us as an old, wrinkly couple with grandchildren, living in Australia,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying. “And Ayda's got the gift. If she says that's what's going to happen, then that what's going to happen. She's never wrong.”

But now it turns out that the surprise wedding could have been motivated not by a desire to make the three-year relationship official, but by something else entirely: friends believe she is pregnant with his child.

On Saturday, a beaming Robbie reportedly showed wedding guests the new addition to his Beverly Hills home: a nursery. According to The Sun, which quoted an anonymous source, a recent £1million (Dh5.8m) revamp at the singer’s mansion “one room specifically intended as a nursery”. The source was quoted as saying: "Ayda's worked on everything from layout to colour schemes."

The bride’s friends have been invited to a mystery party at her mother Gwen’s LA home this Saturday, and speculation is rife that it is to be a baby shower. The Sun quoted a friend as saying: "It's strange to have a party so soon after a wedding."

All the wedding dish

The bride: Half-Turkish Ayda, whose real surname is Evecan, has a degree in political science and gave up training to be a lawyer in a vain attempt to make a career as a stand-up comedienne, landing a role in the American soap “Days of Our Lives” as well as in shows such as “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and “Back To You” with “Frasier” star Kelsey Grammer. She is also rather well known for a series of raunchy photo shoots, wearing only her underwear in a series of American lads' mags.

The groom: Robbie is regarded one of Europe's most successful entertainers selling some 57 million albums, and he has won more Brit awards than any other artist. He had high-profile flings with models Rachel Hunter and Tania Strecker, singers Nicole Appleton and Geri Halliwell.

Where: Robbie, 36, and Ayda, 31, were to have a ceremony on the Pacific island Catalina, but they nixed those plans for a quiet evening in the back garden of Robbie’s £12 million hacienda-style mansion at Mulholland Estates in Los Angeles. Flowers spelt "Love" on the lawn and roses covered a marquee.

Who was there: Reportedly, only 40 or 50 close friends and family attended the 30-minute ceremony, which was held at sunset. These included his mother Jan and father Peter Conway. Robbie’s best man was his best friend, entertainer Jonathan Wilkes, 32.

Ayda’s father, who now lives in Turkey and who she has reportedly not had contact with for years, did not attend.

Robbie’s Take That friends – Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Jason Orange – did not make the transatlantic event, but sent a video message instead. Among the guests who were there were American actress Claire Danes and her husband, British actor Hugh Dancy, who hails from Williams's home town, Stoke-on-Trent.

What they wore: Robbie wore a formal black tuxedo with a white bow tie, while Ayda, who Robbie calls his “Swiss army knife”,  wore a layered, full-skirted strapless gown. Her hair had been styled by celebrity coiffeur and Style Network star Ken Paves, who is a favourite of “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria.

The reception: Word has it that Robbie’s guests enjoyed an Arabian-themed reception. It was a six-hour-long dance party with free-flowing bubbly, although teetotaller Robbie abstained. Apparently, the “save the date” cards that went out two weeks ago only said it was a party to celebrate Robbie’s 20 years in showbusiness, with word only leaking in the last few days that it was to be a wedding.

Was there a pre-nup? Yes. According to reports, Robbie and Ayda have signed an agreement that will protect his £80m fortune in case of a divorce. Yet, Robbie’s dad told the News of the World newspaper: "At last, Rob is happy. That's what you want for your kids and this is the happiest I've seen him. Ayda is so beautiful and so delightful and so lovely and just so right for him. They are brilliant together."
However, she is guaranteed £2 million for every year of marriage.

Cold feet: Robbie proposed to Ayda last November live on an Australian radio show. The couple split up three times in the first year and Ayda reportedly flounced out of their home earlier this year after a row about fixing the date for the wedding, because she was reportedly increasingly frustrated at what she saw as her boyfriend's procrastinating. Robbie had already called off a planned ceremony on Valentine's Day, blaming his decision on the fact that details of the date had been leaked to the press.

Honeymoon: The happy couple are now on a honeymoon honeymoon at the exclusive Los Cabos resort in Mexico. It will end on September 3 in Blackpool, according to reports, where Robbie will switch on the illuminations.

Married life: According to reports, the pair live an essentially quiet life at home in LA, avoiding nightclubs to stay in watching DVDs. In fact, guests staying over often find themselves kicking their heels after the couple have gone up to bed as early as 9pm.
