The war between the Chopra cousins have long been in news as alleged discomfort between Meera and her two famous cousins, Priyanka and Parineeti circulated right from the time of signing her first Bollywood movie, 'Gang of Ghosts'.

But now Meera Chopra has refuted rumours of tension with Priyanka and instead lashed out at Parineeti for her prior comments.

The rumours of the rift between the newbie and her cousins cemented as the 'Ishaaqzaade' actress infamously stated that Meera was not her cousin.

"Meera is not my cousin. She is a cousin's cousin's cousin. We don't even meet and talk. So she is not really my family," said Parineeti.

Meera lashed out at Parineeti and said the remarks against her are "unwarranted and stupid."

Meera says Parineeti is young and her comment didn't hurt her.

But had such statements come from Priyanka, then it would have definitely bothered Meera as they share a close relationship.

Priyanka had promoted Meera's film, 'Gangs of Ghosts' by sharing the film's theatrical trailer and tweeting "My sister's first Hindi movie! Check it!!! (sic)".

In fact the promo was seen with Priyanka's ‘Gunday’.

Meera reacted saying, “I wasn’t really aware. But it is good. Priyanka is very talented and I know ‘Gunday’ will do well. In the process people will also see my promos and her good luck can rub off on me,”.

Priyanka also has shown her support to her sisters saying, “When I came to films, there was no one to help me. I was alone. Now that I am here I will protect them.

“I will make sure I am there for them. It warms my heart to see my cousins coming here,” she replied when told about Barbie Handa (another cousin) entering Bollywood with an Anubhav Sinha project.

However, Parineeti clearly says that Priyanka and she are first cousins, and distanced herself from Meera.

But according to Meera all the cousins stayed together and grew up before Parineeti's family moved to a different city. Parineeti's comment is "unwarranted and stupid."

For Meera, Priyanka has always been a "huge inspiration" because she has risen to the stardom on her own and without any background or godfather.

Meera wants to follow her footsteps and has two films - Satish Kaushik's 'Gangs of Ghosts' and Vikram Bhatt's '1920 London'.

Now that she is here in Bollywood, comparisons will be made with both the cousins and she is ready for that.

We hope the sisters are ready to share the limelight and sort out their differences.
