‘Dollars’ is a UAE based production and will be majorly shot in the UAE with some parts in India

Dubai based events manager, Sameer Khan announced his directorial debut with UAE’s first home production of a Bollywood flick, titled ‘Dollars’.

The film stars a fresh frontline cast and is backed by a multi award winning production team.

Bollywood’s association with UAE and the region’s audience dates back to the 70s if not earlier. And the popularity of Hindi films spans beyond the sub continental audience to all cultures and nationalities.

This love affair between UAE and bollywood has strengthened over the years with the UAE becoming more and more of a leading choice for filming locations. And with introduction of local production of these titles, something bigger might be on the cards.

The film that is set to hit the floors by the first week of January 2013 is a tale of two friends who arrive in Dubai to work and their fast paced action adventure thereof.

‘Dollars’ is a UAE based production and will be majorly shot in the UAE with some parts in India.

“To call it ‘a dream come true’ would be an understatement,” said Sameer Khan the film’s Director.

“I have been an incurable lover of films and aspiring filmmaker since the time memory serves, and after having been a part of the Bollywood circuit from the other side of the fence via events, I have been working towards this passion for years. The objective was to assemble the perfect team with the perfect track and that can share the common vision. And today we have just that and more behind the camera,” he added.

‘Dollars’ which is being produced by Times Square Entertainment & Ashwini Sehdev, features music by Sajid-Wajid, the multi award-winning duo who picked up Filmfare awards for Best Music Director for 'Partner' & 'Dabangg' and delivered chart busting music this year for 'Housefull 2', 'Rowdy Rathore' and the current trailblazer ‘Dabangg 2’, and choreography by Mudassar Khan of 'Ready', 'Bodyguard', 'Dabangg' fame.

Vikram Chopra is the film’s associate producer and Neelesh Mishra, who has the record breaking ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ to his credit, has rendered the script and screenplay.

Rohan Mapuskar (3 Idiots, Ferrari Ki Sawari) is the film’s casting director and Steven Bernard (Golmaal series, Singham, Bol Bachchan) has been named as editor.

The film is slated for a mid 2013 release.
