Besides blockbuster movies Bollywood is also known for its big bashes. The calendar is usually jam-packed during Eid with parties hosted by the biggies. But this time around there isn’t too many plans on the floor. Most are, in fact, planning small get-togethers with close friends and family.

The baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, for the first time plans to celebrate Eid in a big way and will throw a party to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr. Though king Khan is known to have a bash every now and then, this is the first time that he will throw a party to celebrate Eid. Apparently the actor wants his children to learn more about his religion in the best way possible. He intends to read namaaz with the kids this time.

Actor Sanjay Dutt, who is known for his knock-out Eid parties,is lying low-key this year. He hosted an iftar party for the children of film workers affiliated to the Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) at their premises. About 200 kids attended the star's party.

For Salman Khan it's most likely to be a family affair. The family will get together and do the regular charity, but no lavish party is on the cards. Salman's health has been an issue of concern lately.

Actor Emraan Hashmi says his Eid will be a simple affair and that he will celebrate it with family and friends.

Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi are all set to host their usual Eid get together. But instead of an exclusive party, their house will remain open for everyone.

Many Muslims in Bollywood have decided not to celebrate Eid to show their angst against the recent Mumbai terror attacks.

Katrina Kaif was one among a whole host of celebrities who decided to skip celebrations and wear a black band as a mark of protest. Actors like Irrfan Khan, Zayed Khan, Dia Mirza, Farhan Akhtar, Sajid Khan and sister Farah Khan and many others will be wearing the black arm bands on Eid day to show their solidarity against the attacks.
