Justin Timberlake cancels sold-out gig; Abu Dhabi eagerly awaits

Justin Timberlake cancelled his sold-out concert in New York City on Wednesday night (19.02.14) due to "health reasons" but has rescheduled the show for Friday (21.02.14).

The 'Mirrors' hitmaker was forced to pull the plug on his scheduled show at Madison Square Garden, as part of his 20/20 Experience World Tour, at the eleventh hour after coming down with a mystery illness.

Hours before the gig was due to take place, the 33-year-old star announced he wouldn't be performing on Twitter, tweeting: "Hey NY. There is never an easy way to do this... Unfortunately, I have to postpone tonight's show to Friday due to health reasons."

He added: "I am truly sorry to everyone that have tickets for tonight. It kills me to have to do this. I hope to see you all on Friday. JT"

Justin has rescheduled his cancelled concert for Friday (21.02.14), following his second sold-out gig at the venue on Thursday night (20.02.14).

He will also appear on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' on Friday before moving on to perform in Buffalo, New York on Saturday (22.02.14).

The singer gave no indication he was feeling unwell when he took to the stage in Chicago on Tuesday night (18.02.14).

Justin, who is married to 'Total Recall' actress Jessica Biel, kicked off his current tour last November and is due to finish it in Poland in August

Justin Timberlake’s return to the UAE has been confirmed.

The hit singer will hit Abu Dhabi’s du Arena on Yas Island on May 23, nearly seven years since his 2007 concert in the capital city.

Fans suspected the concert announcement was coming their way when a teaser video went online on January 7.

A 17-second animated teaser surfaced depicting a paper being opened up to show an image that bears a resemblance to the award-winning singer.
 
The video continues with a hand writing in the hashtag, #JTUAE, with the date 09.01.2014 flashing, hinting at a possible announcement on January 9.
 
The 20/20 Experience world tour travels North America and Europe throughout 2014.
