Madhuri, Karan Johar shoot for 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa' season 6

'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa', went on floor on Wednesday

The sixth season of the immensely popular Indian television reality show, 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa', went on floor on Wednesday. The show is slated to go on air from June 1 on Colors channel.

The shooting commenced in Mumbai with a mixed bag of contestants - actors, models, playback singers and stand-up comedians. The 12 contestants are ready to set the dance floor on fire along with their professional dance partners.

Some of the well-known contestants in the fray include Bollywood playback singer Shaan, television actress Shweta Tiwari, TV actors Karnvir Bohra and lead actor of television series 'Balika Vadhu' Siddharth Shukla.

The show's judges remain the same as last season. Ace choreographer Remo D'Souza, dancing diva and actress Madhuri Dixit as well as top-of-the-line director/producer Karan Johar will do the honours this season as well. According to the grapevine, reality show audience can expect to see Madhuri in a new avatar.

Karan Johar tweeted while he was on his way to the studio to start judging the show. He tweeted: "On my way to shoot #jhalaldiklajaa....the season begins!!!!"

The reality show's fans are eagerly waiting for the new season to start with a big bang.

The concept of the show is a crowd-puller with the involvement of a mix of small-time celebrities and stars who partner with professional dancers.

The competition is tough as each episode involves a particular theme-based showdance, revolving around Bollywood in most cases. The contestants battle it out till the end as the winning couple gets to take home a huge cash prize.

The winner of 'Jhalak Dikhla Jaa' season 5 was Gurmeet Choudhary and Shampa, who took home a grand prize of Rs40 lakh.
