Maroon 5 confirm April gig in Dubai

American rock band Maroon 5 will play a Dubai gig this April, organisers Live Nation Middle East said in a statement.

The band is expected to perform old hits as well as new singles from their latest album “Hands All Over" when they hit the Dubai World Trade Centre Arena on April 21. Tickets are now on sale at livenation.ae and are available from Dh275.

Capturing their first of two Grammys as Best New Artist of 2005, and going on to sell more than ten million albums worldwide, Maroon 5 won plaudits with the hybrid rock/R&B sound they introduced on their debut album "Songs About Jane". Four years later, their sophomore effort, “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long”, hit stores, with a sound sexier, stronger and even lyrically darker than before.

Their latest album “Hands All Over” has been described as “a killer hybrid of rock, pop, funk and R&B.” They sat down to write this album after winding down from a world tour in support of their previous album, “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long.”

Dubai-based rock band Juliana Down will open for the Los Angeles musical stars.

“We are really excited to have Maroon5 back in Dubai, they really stole the show in 2008 and we are very much looking forward to having them rock once again. I am thrilled that we are able to support local up-and-coming talent by having one of the UAE’s best local bands open up for the International superstars.
