Eyes to the skies: Superhero Hrithik flies into Dubai with 'Krrish 3'

It’s a bird, a plane. By golly, it’s Bollywood’s first bonafide superhero, and he’s swooping into Dubai with his mask and cape in check with some inside scoop on the multi-million dollar franchise that is ‘Krrish 3’.

If you haven’t guessed already, the caped crusader in question is Hrithik Roshan, who, along with Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi and director Rakesh Roshan, are all arriving in the emirate on Thursday, unspooling a thrill ride like no other.

Organiser Syed Shuja of Dream Advertising and Ministry of Events revealed the details to Emirates 24|7, saying: “Dubai hasn’t witnessed such a huge Bollywood extravaganza since Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’ event during Ramadan this year.”

The film, which is slated to release across UAE cinemas on October 31, is third installment in the ridiculously popular film franchise that started with ‘Koi... Mil Gaya’ back in 2003.

A decade later, Roshan returns fighting a new evil called Kaal, essayed by Oberoi, while Ranaut plays a mutant in this film; Chopra revives her role as Krrish’s love interest.

The quartet of actors, along with the director, will arrive in Dubai Thursday afternoon, before meeting with the media later in the day.

Shuja revealed further: “Following the press schedule, the stars will attend an exclusive High Tea at The Oberoi Hotel, an invite-only event that can be attending by booking a Ford car with the local dealership.

“The stars will then head to boutique Studio 8 at 6.30pm and then head to the Arabian Centre Mall at 7.30pm to interact with fans.”

While many may have hoped for a remarkable 'Krrish-esque' stunt to welcome the actor’s entry into the mall, Shuja has however ruled this out, citing that the star’s recent brain surgery over the summer has seen Roshan shy away from strenuous antics due to doctor’s orders.

“However, there will be a mini performance on stage with all the stars present for fans to enjoy,” said Shuja.

When quizzed whether, like their contemporaries, the Kapoors and the Bachchans, the Roshans were planning to stay back a few days to trawl through Dubai’s booming real estate market and Shuja said such is not the case this time around.

“Hrithik and his father are flying out the very next morning, while some of the stars are flying out the same day itself to Mumbai,” he explained, adding: “The family was very clear that Hrithik will meet his fans at a pace that is suitable to his health.”

Meanwhile, the organisers are also flying down winners from Bahrain, Qatar and Oman, who had participated in a campaign to meet and greet the stars of ‘Krrish 3’ during their Dubai visit.
