Filmfare Awards: Ranbir beats Shah Rukh; Vidya better than Priyanka

Director Anurag Basu's narration about a deaf and dumb boy's search for love in 'Barfi!' and gusto Anurag Kashyap's tale about the power struggle between three families in 'Gangs of Wasseypur' dominated the glittering the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards.

The ceremony, which is India's equivalent to the Oscars, saw dashing and refined actor Ranbir Kapoor repeat history after winning the Best Actor award for his acclaimed film 'Barfi!'.

Last year Ranbir swept awards all across the country for his powerful performance in 'Rockstar'. Even actress Vidya Balan continued her winning streak since last year and collected the Best actress award for 'Kahaani'.

'Barfi!' also won the Best Film at the awards held at Mumbai's Yash Raj Film studios. 'Kahaani' won five awards including best director for Sujoy Ghosh.

Music director Pritam won both the Best Background Score and Best Music Director awards for Barfi's superb score. The awards paid tribute to the late Yash Chopra with a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award.
