Bollywood fans, here’s your time to go celebrity spotting in Dubai as the cast and crew of “Players” have touched down in sunshine city amidst tweets and good humour and will be jetting across the city all day to promote their latest film.

Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Sonam Kapoor and Neil Nitin Mukesh are in the emirate for today’s world premiere of their upcoming thriller, which is one of Bollywood’s rare official remake of a Hollywood blockbuster, this time being “The Italian Job”, with an Indian twist of course.

The quartet of stars will be heading down to Global Village later today, with public appearances and meet-and-greet on the VIP red carpet and World Culture Stage at 4.45pm (we hope).

Organisers, Ministry of Events and Dream Advertising, have stated that fans will have the chance to meet the stars face to face, take autographs and photos with their idols.

The event will be followed by the world premiere of “Players” at the Grand Cineplex at 7pm during where a gold carpet will be unrolled keeping up with the theme of the movie.

And if you still have missed all the action, then the stars will head to an after party hosted by Club Pulse, Movenpick Hotel in Bur Dubai at midnight.

“Players” has been directed by the duo, Abbas-Mastan, which revolves around a high-end robbery planned by Charlie (Bachchan) who then forms a motley crew that includes our three stars, along with Bobby Deol and Sikander Kher to be a part of the con.

Avid twitter users, Bachchan, Basu and Kapoor have all been tweeting away about their Dubai trip, with the fashionista daughter of Anil Kapoor posting yesterday: “Super excited about Dubai.”

Basu soon followed with her own update, saying: “Leaving for Dubai now. Have a packed day tomorrow. Lots of stuff for “Players.” Looking forward to meeting all of you guys from Dubai.”

Last evening’s flight had its share of camaraderie, with Bachchan tweeting: “Ok. Sonam Kapoor on my left, Bipasha Basu on my right. Noise cancelling headphones on, Dubai here we come.”

It is unclear where Nitin Mukesh fit in all of this, but sources say the star son was on another flight due to shooting schedules.

This film is being tagged as a do or die career hit for all its lead stars, with Bachchan’s last successful box office turn being 2009’s “Paa”, where his illustrious father, Amitabh Bachchan stole the show.

Kapoor herself has not tasted much box office success since her debut in 2007 with 2010’s “I Hate Luv Storys” being the only hit film to her credit.

Meanwhile, Basu’s biggest hits were 2008’s “Race” and “Bachna Ae Haseeno”, following that she has appeared in a string of mediocre films.

Nitin Mukesh is yet another who is struggling with 2009’s “New York” emerging as his biggest hit.

As for Deol and Kher, we don’t think even they can recall when they last delivered a hit film.
