Abhishek reduced to a cameo

'Nautanki Saala’ is the first such film that is directed by Rohan Sippy but does not star Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role.

The two friends get along well. Abhishek’s father Amitabh Bachchan had worked in Rohan’s father Ramesh Sippy’s film ‘Sholay. He worked for the first time in Rohan’s directorial venture ‘Kuch Na Kaho’ which eponymously suggests that the less spoken about the film is better because the Aishwarya Rai -Abhishek Bachchan film turned out to be a disaster.

Rohan replaced Ash with Priyanka Chopra in his second film called ‘Bluffmaster’ leading to Priyanka also being named as Piggy Chops when the film was being shot.

Rohan’s third film ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ also had Abhishek Bachchan playing the lead role along with Bipasha Basu and Daggubati Rana with Deepika Padukone essaying a cameo.

But then in his fourth movie, Rohan is not getting Abhishek to work in it in the lead role, opting for the much fresher and younger Ayushman Khurana who is fresh from the success of his film ‘Vicky Donor’.

But then Abhishek does play a cameo in the film. “Rohan came to me he said that he was making this film called Nautanki Saala and that he couldn’t make the film without me and hence asked me to do a small very cameo. I did it because he’s family for me and I am glad that he considers me for all his films,” says Abhishek.

Abhishek Bachchan adds that he would do anything for Rohan. “Rohan is my brother and we have grown up together. He did his first second  and third film with me,” says Abhishek.

‘Nautanki Saala’ is a comedy film. The film also has Kunal Roy Kapoor of ‘Delhi Belly’ fame along with Ayushmann while Evelyn Sharma plays the female lead.

The song in which Abhishek Bachchan will be doing a special appearance is the title track which will also feature Ayushman in it. After all Abhishek will be mouthing those very lines that his father mouthed to Dharmendra in ‘Sholay’ – ‘Nautanki Saala, ghadi ghadi drama karta hai’!

Certainly Abhishek’s presence will certainly boost the Rohan Sippy film for sure.
