Another week, another bevy of Bollywood celebrities making their way to Dubai for a world premiere of one of the most anticipated films of the festive season.

The controversial alleged bio-pic, “The Dirty Picture”, will see Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor strut in the spotlight on December 1 at the Grand Cineplex, Wafi for the film’s first screening, which is being timed with the celebrations of the UAE’s 40th National Day.

Alt Entertainment in association with Cinergy Independent Film Services is expected to set up a packed day of promotional events, which will see the celebrity trio make their way to The Dubai Mall before the evening red carpet event.

“The Dirty Picture” is set against the colourful and entertaining backdrop of the fierce male-dominated South-Indian film industry of the 80’s.

It chronicles the meteoric rise and steep fall of a screen sensation, the quintessential siren, Reshma, whose character is based on the late Southern starlet, Silk Smitha, who committed suicide at the peak of her career.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, the film is directed by Milan Luthria and music is by Vishal-Shekhar.

The film is distributed internationally by Cinergy Independent Film Services and releases across the UAE on December 1.
