IGN Convention with Joffrey Baratheon, ‘King of Westeros’
Pop Culture celebrities are set to grace fans with their presence at Abu Dhabi’s first IGN Convention - a gathering of pop culture and gaming enthusiasts.
The IGN Convention aims to elevate the pop culture experience for gamers, comic enthusiasts, cosplayers, movie buffs and all citizens of the UAE.
The event takes place at du Forum on Yas Island on 16th and 17th October (2pm-10pm daily) and will be attended by a star-studded line up of international celebrities, which includes ‘Game of Thrones’ star Jack Gleeson who fans will recognize for portraying the character of Joffrey Baratheon on screen.
Fans will also get to mingle with voice over artists Adam Harrington, the voice of Bigby Wolf in the ‘Wolf Among Us’ video game, and Dave Fennoy, the voice of Lee Everett in ‘The Walking Dead’ video game.
Italy’s most popular cosplayer, NadiaSK will also be in attendance and be part of the judging panel for the region’s biggest Cosplay Contest.
Cosplay fans put their skills to the test when they showcase their outfits to the judging panel and compete for a total of $10,000 in cash.

Dubai Celebrity Smash

Actor Dennis Quaid, ‘Hellboy’ Ron Pearlman, ‘The Martian’s’ Michael Peña and Kevin ‘Hercules’ Sorbo that will give the paparazzi something to snap about as the quartet jets in for the Dubai Celebrity Smash taking place on October 16.
Other notable names joining this glittering line-up includes football legend Luis Figo, Bollywood ‘Bad Man’ Gulshan Grover and professional golfers Carly Booth and Melissa Reid.
The Dubai Celebrity Smash will feature multiple sporting activities including golf, karting, paintball, volleyball, soccer, rugby, basketball that will have local and international celebrities at the helm; the event will kick off on Friday with the Dubai Celebrity Golf Tournament.
Organisers say these celebrity fueled sporting events are designed to bridge the gap between UAE sports lovers and celebrities to shine a light on local charities and foundations, the UAE chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation UAE that grants the wishes of children living with life-threatening medical conditions.

The Woman in Black

The legendary ghost thriller ‘The Woman in Black’ has returned to Dubai this October due to popular demand, presented by Popular Productions.
Now celebrating a record breaking 25th year in London’s West End ‘The Woman In Black’ is based on Susan Hill’s best-selling novel, and has been adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt.
A lawyer obsessed with a curse that he believes has been cast over him and his family by the spectre of a ‘Woman in Black’ engages a sceptical young actor to help him tell his terrifying story and exorcise the fear that grips his soul.
It begins innocently enough, but as they reach further into his darkest memories the borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh creeps as the ‘Woman in Black’ reveals her terrible purpose.
