India vs Pakistan: Singers lock horns in a musical battle

India and Pakistan fought many raging battles, sometimes with bat & ball in the cricket field, sometimes with a stick toying the ball on a hockey surface.

In the fierce clash both sides had their share of celebrations and despair. But for the first time ever singers from either side of the border will face each other on a musical platform.

Indian singers will take on their Pakistani counterparts in an upcoming reality show- ‘Sur-Kshetra’.

Singing reality show 'Sur-Kshetra' is set for launch with a simulcast on three entertainment channels, Colors, Sahara One and Pakistan's Geo TV.

The show will feature two teams comprising of six singers each. A mentor will be assigned to each of these two teams.

Famous music composer and singer Himesh Reshammiya will monitor team India and Pakistani singer Atif Aslam will look after the Pakistani team.

The jury on the show will comprise of industry veterans Asha Bhosle, Abida Parveen and Runa Laila.

'Sur Kshetra', the most awaited reality music show will be anchored by Bollywood actor Ayesha Takia.

Himesh Reshammiya's team will have singers like Indrani Bhattacharjee (Kolkata), Shahzad Ali (Bikaner), Yashraj Kapil (Delhi), Aman G Trikha (Mumbai), Diljaan (Jalandhar), and Budhaditya Mukherjee (Kolkata).

Competing with them and showcasing their international singing talent under the guidance of Atif Aslam will be the Pakistani team with singers Ameer Ali (Karachi), Imraan Ali (Lahore), Mulazim Husain (Rawalpindi), Nabeel Shaukat Ali (Lahore), Sara Raza Khan (Karachi) and Nadeem Abbas (Lahore).

The show will cover the auditions rounds conducted in India and Pakistan.

Celebrities from the world of music- both from India and Pakistan- Ismail Darbar, Alka Yagnik, Suresh Wadkar, Janab Ghulam Ali Sahab among others will scout for talent during the preliminary rounds.

Episodic themes include ‘Evergreen Old Melodious Numbers’, ‘Best Romantic Songs’, ‘Qawwali Special’, ‘Retro Special’, ‘Shaadi Special’, ‘Folk Special bringing alive the Colours of their Nation’, and ‘AR Rahman Special’ among others.
