Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor denies that there has been any tampering with history or that they have changed any scene of the film Padmavati giving in to demands of right wing activists nor have they tampered with history.

“I never shot any scene that were changed. I think that there were a lot of presumptions about the film. There were a few people who presumed that certain things are there in the film and the clarification was given by the production house that those things are not there in the film,” says Shahid.

The actor also says that the film is to present the glory of the Rajputs and his character bears testimony to it. “When people see the film, they will realise that the heart and the intent of the film is very good. This country and the people who live in it especially the area that we are basing the film will be glorified. It will be shown beautifully. I play a Rajput King, and my character is such that people will see and appreciate the way it has been represented,” he clarifies.

Shahid is also quite guarded about his look in the film specially since he is being spotted regularly with his new beard. “You can assume what the look can be, but let me tell you that it will surely surprise you,” says the actor.

Padmavati also stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone and is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
