A group of film enthusiasts from Kerala are going to the crowd sourcing route to find the right protagonists for a movie they hope to produce.

The involvement of Dubai-based Indian businessman Mohammed Jibran, who himself has played minor roles in more than 35 South Indian films, has led the talent hunt to be held here in the UAE.

The film is called 'Badarul Muneer Husnul Jamaal' (BMHJ) and is about an expatriate from the Malabar region of Calicut, who reaches the UAE in a small boat, to make a fortune and return home.

The ending is, however, tragic.

A talent hunt is currently launched in Dubai and hopes to find actors and actresses to play as many as 20 characters in the film, including the female lead.

Malayalam FM stations in the UAE have been advertising the casting call.

R A Shafeer, director, says the film will tell a story that happened 50 years ago.

“It is a music-based love story and some of the scenes will be shot in different parts of UAE. The plot centres on the Keralite community in the UAE of yesteryears and it will appeal to expatriate audiences.”
The script is written by MSK, a budding script writer from Kerala.
