A great party went sour when Salman Khan took to fighting with his close friend Sanjay Dutt, say the sources.

Reports stated that a heated argument had taken place as Sanju had refused to plays Salman’s father in ‘Bodyguard’.

Clearing the air Sanjay Dutt says, “No there were no fights or arguments at all. As a fact Salman had clearly stated that ‘Only if you are comfortable then go for the role of my father’.”

With a lot of projects in hand, Sanjay Dutt has his own reasons for refusing the role. “Sincerely I could have been a perfect fit for the character. According to the story I had to play his father when Salman is still in his mother’s womb, but somehow I had date problems and I was not too comfortable with it .So I simply refused, but Salman was not disappointed with it. He had already told me to do it keeping my comfort in mind. So the question of having any fights over me not accepting the role does not arise,” says Sanju.

Soon Sanjay Dutt will be seen on the small screen along with Salman Khan hosting the fifth season of the reality show, ‘Bigg Boss’. Speaking about it he says, “The fact is that I am hosting ‘Bigg Boss’ and Salman is there for only two or three episodes along with me. It is all the hype that we have fought but I don’t care about it. Salman and I are good buddies and we had a great time while shooting for ‘Bigg Boss’.”

Shah Rukh Khan, to a close friend of Sanjay recently paid a visit to him. Since Sanju is friendly with both, SRK and Salman we asked if he would play the middle man to get the two estranged Khans together.

Surprisingly Sanjay Dutt replied, “Who am I to make them patch up?  They need to tell me for that, only then can I think of a way to get them back on friendly terms. Frankly, they are grown up individuals and know what is best for them.”

Moving from personal tiffs, Sanjay Dutt is experiencing a great high in his career. The audience loves the new avatar of Dutt in comedy.  After ‘Double Dhamaal’, Sanju is now gearing up for ‘Chatur Singh – Two Star’.

Speaking about the character Sanjay says, “My character is that of a police officer who is very stupid. Whatever he tried to go, everything ends up as a mess. In the movie I feel I am doing a great job but actually my acts are that of a foolish officer. I thoroughly enjoyed playing the role of Chatur Singh, it is being written by Sai Kabir who is a close friend of Mohammad Aslam (producer) from Nagpur.”

The movie talks about how Chatur Singh manages to mess up in every situation and is a disgrace for the Police Department. Sanjay Dutt shares an instance from the movie.

“I try everything possible to prove myself worthy and correct. For example once when we have to disguise ourselves, Chatur Singh goes ahead with a typical hairstyle. A subordinate says ‘This will not work’. So immediately Chatur puts a black mark on his face (massa). In such ways, the character of Chatur Singh defines the heights of stupidity. But it is an enjoyable and lively role,” says the actor.

Adding to Chatur’s silly acts will be well known actor Suresh Menon who plays the character of Pappu Panther. The duo creates a lot of humour onscreen.

Speaking about Suresh, Sanjay says, “Comic timing is extremely important. But when I have a brilliant actor like Suresh Menon opposite me, humour is at its best. Suresh is a master in comedy. I enjoyed working with him and definitely see an improvement in myself.”

Several reports stated that the film was inspired from the English film, ‘The Pink Panther’. Refusing any similarity Sanjay Dutt says, “I do not think there is any resemblance between ‘Chatur Singh – Two Star’ and ‘The Pink Panther’.  This is a hilarious and interesting story. I really liked the script, and we started shooting for the film without any delay.”

With many years in Bollywood, Sanjay Dutt has seen a lot of lows and highs in his career. “When I see my earlier films, I just sit back and evaluate myself. It clearly shows that how mature my performances have now become compared to my yesteryear characters and films. Frankly speaking I never prepare much while doing a character, everything I do is spontaneous. I feel preparing beforehand might not bring in the originality in my act. And after 30 long years in the film industry, I have improved a lot,” he says.

Speaking about his love for acting Sanju says, “I have an obsession for acting and filmmaking. I have worked in different kinds of movies- action, romance and comedy. I have always wanted to make excellent commercial movies, be it any genre. Maybe even parallel cinema, something that my father used to love.”

Having done several films till date, Sanjay Dutt mentions some of his favourite flicks. He says, “‘Khalnayak’, ‘Munnabhai’, ‘Saddak’ and ‘Sajjan’ are some of my most memorable and un-forgetful films.”

Apart from being a good actor, Sanjay Dutt has big plans as a producer. He says, “Right now I am just producing films and want to finish off projects fast. Hence I always try and plan films in such a way that we can start and finish within six months. Producing films is more than enough to keep my passion for filmmaking going, hence for now I have no plans for taking on direction.”

Son of a great veteran actor, late Sunil Dutt, Sanjay says his father is his strength. “My father always used to say, ‘Whatever you do, do it with conviction.’ As a student he instructed me to do everything with dignity. My bad days of me being convicted and being jailed have been a learning experience for me. I took all of this in stride with the blessings and teachings of my father. He always told me whatever may come your way you need to face it bravely and only then you will pass out with flying colours,” says the actor.

Talking about his father’s yesteryear films Sanjay says, “We can never make a film like ‘Mother India’.  It is just impossible for anyone to make it because such classic films can be made only once. Even in ‘Padosan’, I can never do Sunil Dutt Saab’s role as I stand nowhere close to him. I think I can only do a film by Kishore Kumar Saab, if at all a script from his films comes to me. Sequels should be made but they need to excel the earlier ones, which rarely happens.”

Presently Sanjay Dutt has a lot of movies in hand. Informing about them he says, “There is Rohit Shetty’s ‘Bol Bachchan’ which is going to be a total Rohit’s kind of a film .Then there is another comic caper, ‘Lalu Panju’. I am also working in ‘Rascals’ which is a typical David Dhawan film. We are also planning to introduce Samir Sippy.”

Apart from hosting ‘Bigg Boss’ on television, Sanjay Dutt is staying away from the small screen. “I am not doing any other television show except ‘Bigg Boss’. I was offered ‘Dus Ka Dum’ but I am not doing it,” concludes Sanjay Dutt.
