A very 'Happy New Year' - no it's not that time of the year but Dubai is on a celebratory mood.

Bollywood's biggest stars have come down to Dubai for the world premiere of Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year' at Atlantis The Palm.

Emirates24|7 was at the Atlantis, covering one of the biggest movie events the city has seen.

The film is peeped as the biggest release of Bollywood this year and Dubai rolls out the red carpet for King Khan and his team.

Yes, Shah Rukh Khan has reaffirmed his status as the world awaits yet another blockbuster from the entertainer.

Along with co-stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood, Vivaan Shah and director Farah Khan, SRK was accompanied by his beautiful wife and producer Gauri Khan.

It was an emotional moment for 'Happy New Year' director Farah Khan and Deepika, who broke into tears during the event.

The entire cast has been shooting for the film for almost 200 days followed by a series of concerts to promote the film. All this has created a strong bond among the team.

A visibly emotional Farah said, "We were so emotionally connected to it (the movie),” shot and had its first screening.

Sponsors had their fan enclosure where kids and their parents screamed with joy when their favourite stars walked down the red carpet.

The actors showed them their love by shaking hands, walking up to them and chatting with young fans.

Hours of waiting were worth it when they obliged fan's request for selfies.

Deepika has scored a perfect ten in her midnight blue one shoulder gown by Gaurav Gupta from his recent couture collection.

And the men were in perfect harmony sporting similar black suit with gold embroidery.

The Dubai-based movie highlights some of the famous landmarks of the emirate including the Atlantis property, the Dubai Mall Ice Rink and the Burj Al Arab - the helipad.

Dubai’s New Year’s Eve fireworks extravaganza that entered the Guinness World Record (2014) finds a special place in the Farah Khan directorial.

Superstar Shah Rukh said, “Dubai is the new hub of the world. This is not my second home. It’s my home.”

Director Farah Khan said, “At first there were six characters but at the end there were seven: Dubai.”
