The presumed comeback of Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has spoken about, analysed and even chronicled at length despite the actress maintaining a stony silence about it.

The buzz is that filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali approached Aishwarya for a special dance number in his next movie, 'Ram Leela' starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

After imposing a self-styled exile from movies due to birth of baby Aaradhya, Ash to return on silver-screen in an item number?

Well, thankfully the actress has not given her nod as of now but has only been approached.

Reports suggest that Sanjay, who is convinced that the actress will do full justice to the song is very keen on getting her on board.

Ash has previously worked with Sanjay on films such as 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' opposite Salman Khan, 'Devdas' opposite Shah Rukh Khan and 'Guzaarish' opposite Hrithik Roshan.

The actress has been getting numerous offers from filmmakers including Karan Johar and Sriram Raghavan.

It was also reported that Ash will return with husband Abhishek Bachchan in Himesh Reshammiya's 'Masoom'. Emirates24|7 has confirmation from Aishwarya Rai's spokesperson that Ash and Abhishek are not working in the remake and the report is false.

Few months ago reports did the round that filmmaker Karan Johar has been planning a period drama and as his leading lady he wants none other than Aishwarya.

News has been doing the rounds that Karan Johar's multi-starrer period drama will be a casting coup of sorts.

Karan is gunning for Ranbir Kapoor as the hero and he plans to bring in Ranbir's girlfriend Katrina Kaif.

Then comes the news that director Sriram Raghvan wants to make a thriller with Ash. Guess the male lead - youngster Varun Dhawan and to be produced by Saif Ali Khan.

Even Shah Rukh Khan's 'Happy New Year' was touted to be Ash's new launch pad.

It's just a matter of time before Aishwarya makes the grand comeback (she hates to call it a 'comeback'). In a press conference she said, "I didn’t go anywhere so how will I make a comeback. Somehow I do not understand the word. I have just stayed away from films. Once I sign a film, a formal announcement will be made."

A doting mother to her two-year old daughter Aaradhya, Aishwarya is probably more comfortable leaving her daughter and heading out on work now. About her comeback, we'll only have to wait and watch.
