With the amount of money riding on him and the kind of success run he enjoyed at the Box Office, it's rather pointless to discuss whether Salman Khan is the Numero Uno of Bollywood.

A recent survey by a media and entertainment company of top male actors in Bollywood shows that Salman Khan is top of the heap followed by Akshay Kumar (who has managed to come at Number 2 position after his recent films) followed by Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.

In fact Hrithik has managed to enter the top 5 for the first time since October 2012.

In the past couple of years, it has been proved that Salman Khan is a star just competing with himself.

In 2012 alone, releases of the other big stars have disappointed in terms of box office collections.

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' and Aamir Khan's 'Talaash' can be claimed to be big money makers but that is only because the male star has a share in profits and when the share is given the profits are not so great.

The 100 crore (INR) nett mark which is redundant as a benchmark today has proved a stiff task for Shah Rukh, Ajay Devgn and Aamir Khan over the last few weeks. Whereas for Salman Khan starrers the question is not will it do 100 but in how many days.

SRK just about managed a 100 crore with 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan', Ajay Devgn fell short with 'Son Of Sardaar' and Aamir Khan fell way short with ‘Talaash’.

There has been endless debate about Salman Khan's movie lacking strong script; packed with inane, mindless content and cheap comedy. Most of his films were even panned by reviewers.

But, the half a dozen films he made in the past couple of years made it in the 100 cr club. This itself underlines the biggest truth that average movie-goer enjoys the regular entertainment Salman offers.

Audience and their verdict at the box office is the final stamp that a movie requires. Audience enjoys films which are full of entertainment and high on emotions and that's the reason that Salman's film become a hit at the box office.

The scenario for the last five months of 2012 was that the two Salman Khan starrers (Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2) have done enough business in a few days than a Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar starrers put together.

So who do you think rules the roost is Bollywood now?
