Jennifer Lopez considered quitting 'American Idol'.

The singer-and-actress split from husband Marc Anthony in July, two months after the TV talent contest ended, and she admits her personal struggles left her feeling worn out and unsure whether she wanted to continue her commitment to the series.

She said: "I got a little bit tired at the end with everything going on in my life at the time."

However, Jennifer soon changed her mind because she enjoys working on the show with fellow judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler and host Ryan Seacrest.

Speaking at a press conference in Savannah, Georgia - where the show is currently taping - she said: "It is one of the best things I've ever done. Walking in here, they're working at a diner, and we get to watch them grow into a superstar. I was like 'OK I'm gonna do it again."

Meanwhile, Ryan has admitted he is pleased that Jennifer signed a new contract - worth a reported $20 million - to return to the show.

He told The Hollywood Reporter: "You never know, right? Not until they officially close the deal and tell you that she's coming back. I was hopeful because we had such a great season last year, I love her to death and I think that she fit in brilliantly. We need her role on the show. So I was very relieved to hear that she signed on again."
