Indian actor John Abaraham and Salman Khan have started wrestling again.

And they are grappling on a film concerning the great Indian wrestler Gama Pahelwan.

Both these actor turned producers want to make a film on Gama Pahelwan and have registered titles about the film.

Sources state that Salman has registered titles like Gama, The Great Gama, Pahelwan and Great Gama, while John has applied for titles like The Great Gama and Rustam-E-Hind Gama.

The Salman film will be directed by Puneet Issar while the John film can be directed by Parmeet Sethi, who made his debut with the film 'Badmaash Company'.

Punneet Issar and Salman’s relationship goes back to the film 'Garv' when Puneet directed him in that film.

The Puneet film will have Sohail Khan playing the role of Gama Pahelwan, while the Parmeet Directed film will have John playing Gama Pahelwan himself.

This wrestling aside, Salman and John have been grappling for a while on other issues - the fallout started during a concert called Rockstar in 2006, when John was performing along with Salman and they fought over financial issues during the show.

The show’s budget was going up and Salman had requested all the performers to charge less.

Everyone agreed barring John and Salman was not very pleased with this.

Later the two worked together in a film called 'Baabul' but the cold war was visible.

Four years later when John and Akshay Kumar worked in a film called 'Desi Boyz', Salman reached the set to meet Akshay and gave John a friendly hug.

And it did seem that differences between the two had disappeared.

John also made an appearance on the sets of the Salman's TV show 'Bigg Boss' season 5 and promoted his film.

But then we reckon that was due to professional commitments.

Interestingly, both Salman and John only prefer their home production films and are busy towards strengthening their production houses. In such a situation Gama Pahelwan could take their rivalry to new levels.

It has been observed that when people try to make films on the same subjects, they ideally do not work.

We saw this in the case of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Sunny Deol and director Raj Kumar Santoshi both made films on the legendary freedom fighter and both the film flopped.

Director Ashutosh Gowarikar and producer Anurag Kashyap had also fought earlier. This was on a film on the Chittagong Uprising on which Ashutosh had made Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, in which Abhishek Bachchan played the lead, while Anurag had co-produced Chittagong. During that time Anurag had made an allegation against Amitabh Bachchan that he was trying to get the former’s film postponed due to the presence of Abhishek Bachchan in the film.

And now, history is set to repeat itself in the case of Salman and John. We just hope that both films are made well and liked by the audience.
