Pop star Justin Bieber arrived at a Canadian police station Wednesday, reportedly in connection with the alleged assault of a limousine driver in December.
In images broadcast on television, the singer was seen entering the station in Toronto escorted by officers through a crowd of screaming fans.
CTV television said Bieber had been to the city on December 29 and was returning from a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey game when police were called to intervene in an altercation with the driver of a limousine he had ridden with his entourage.
Toronto police, however, said they could not confirm reports that Bieber would be formally charged at the police station with the assault.
"Duty Desk, 52 Division and Toronto Police Corp Comm cannot confirm any media reports about Justin Bieber, so please don't bother calling," Toronto Police tweeted.
If confirmed, the charges would mark the latest setback for the 19-year-old heartthrob after his Los Angeles home was searched because he allegedly threw eggs at his neighbor's house, and his arrest in Miami Beach on January 23 for drag racing and impaired driving.
Bieber said he was not guilty of the charges filed against him in Florida last week -- including drunk driving, resisting arrest and driving with an expired license.
In a filing by the pop star's attorneys to a Miami court, Bieber formally rejected the charges.

Justin Bieber could be deported back to Canada after over 100,000 people signed a petition to have him removed from the US.
The 19-year-old singer - who is from Ontario - may be asked to leave the country and have his green card revoked by the White House after an official We The People campaign against him received more than 100,000 signatures in just six days.
The government promises to review and respond to a petition once it receives more than 100,000 signatures in 30 days.
The campaign comes after the 'Beauty and A Beat' hitmaker was arrested last week in Miami for driving under the influence (DUI), driving with an expired license and resisting arrest.
The petition reads: "We the people of the United States ... would like to see the dangerous, destructive, and drug abusing Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked ...
"He is not only threatening the safety of our people, but he is also a terrible influence on our nation's youth.We the people would like to remove Justin Bieber from our society."
Meanwhile, as well as facing legal problems in Miami, Justin could also potentially face felony charges after an incident where one of his neighbours' homes was egged, causing $20,000 of damage. Officers for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department said they will soon be submitting evidence to the District Attorney, who will then decide whether to press charges.
