Kareena not part of Shah Rukh's 'Chennai Express'

Director Rohit Shetty denies approaching Kareena for the movie

Rohit Shetty's 'Chennai Express' with Shah Rukh Khan is one of the 'hottest' films to watch out for.

After the success of 'Bol Bachchan' Shetty is not basking on the glory but work has already started for 'Chennai Express.

Rohit has been in search of the female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan from a long time and since then, rumours of every ‘A’ grade actress being a part of the film have always being doing the rounds.

There was lot of deliberation between Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor and even Deepika Padukone. Kareena Kapoor's name looked almost certain for the role.

However, Rohit Shetty, is quite miffed with the rumours of Kareena Kapoor being roped in 'Chennai Express'.

The director goes into denial model and categorically refuses the entry of Ms Kapoor as a leading lady of his film. Shetty said he didn't even approach Kareena for the role.

But nowvKareena Kapoor has opted out of Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’. Her exit has come as a surprise especially when she was very excited about the subject and also working with Shetty.

Reports indicate that Rohit Shetty may cast Deepika Padukone for the role. Deepika however has kept the suspense and maintained her silence.

'Chennai Express' will go on floors from the end of September and release would happen mid-next year.

The story about a man who travels from Mumbai to Rameshwaram and what happens during the journey, is what the film is about.
