Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West have reportedly used an agency to hire a surrogate to carry their third child but it was Kanye who pushed for more kids.
The couple - who have children North, four, and Saint, 18 months, together - found a surrogate to carry their third child because the 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star has been warned off getting pregnant again by doctors but it was the rapper who was keen to move the process forward.
An insider said: "Kim was never going to let herself get pregnant again. It's just too dangerous for her. Kanye was initially the one pushing for baby No. 3."
And the 40-year-old rapper and his 36-year-old wife are ready to welcome another child into their family because they're in a "great" place in their marriage.
The source added to PEOPLE: "They are both very excited to give their kids a sibling. Things are great between them. They act very happy together."
The surrogate has already been found through an agency, and it's believed the couple are willing to pay the unnamed woman $45,000 in 10 equal instalments, though if it is a multiple pregnancy she will receive an additional $5,000 per child.
In addition, if the surrogate loses reproductive organs in the process, she receives an additional $4,000.
They're are also required to deposit $68,850 with the agency.
In return, the surrogate must refrain from smoking, drinking and drugs during the pregnancy, and she cannot go in hot tubs or saunas, handle or change cat litter, apply hair dye, drink more than one caffeinated drink per day or eat raw fish.
She has also agreed to restrict sexual activity in the weeks leading up to getting pregnant including foregoing intercourse for three weeks after embryo implantation.
The agreement also states the 40-year-old rapper and his 36-year-old wife "assume the legal and parental responsibilities for any child ... that may possess any congenital or other abnormalities or defects."
Kim Kardashian West 'terrified' of her kids using social media
Kim Kardashian West is "terrified" of raising her children around social media as she doesn't like the idea of them "growing up" around the sites.
The 36-year-old television personality has four-year-old daughter North and 18-month-old son Saint with her husband Kanye West, and has admitted she has concerns about her brood "growing up" around social media.
She said: "I'm terrified. I think that social media is one of the most important tools if you're building a brand ... and just to share your life, I think it's really fun. But I didn't grow up in a world of social media."
And in order to make sure her children don't develop social media habits too quickly, the 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star has already implemented a "no phones" rule at home.
She added: "My kids are a little too young to want it now, but I think it's so important. It's about boundaries. At home, I don't have my phone. Dinner time, breakfast time, there's no phone."
Kim also isn't a fan of the idea of "falling asleep" with a phone nearby.
Speaking during an appearance on 'The View' on Tuesday, Kim said: "Kids should not be falling asleep with their cell phones ... With everything, whether it's junk food or anything, you have to have boundaries."
Although Kim doesn't want her children using social media too regularly, she did take to her own Instagram account recently to wish her husband Kanye a happy Father's Day.
Alongside a picture of Kanye lying in bed with his little girl snuggled on his chest, she wrote: "Happy Father's Day! Thank you for being such a good dad to our babies!"
And the brunette beauty also posted a picture of Kanye and little Saint gazing at one another on board a private jet.
Alongside a heart emoji, she simply captioned the picture: "Happy Father's Day (sic)"
North West and Penelope Disick have their own "sister puppies".
Kim Kardashian West and her sister Kourtney Kardashian have each gifted their four-year-old daughters new pets, and the 36-year-old reality star has revealed her niece Penelope has named her pooch Honey but North is yet to pick a suitable moniker for her mutt.
Sharing a picture of the tiny white pups, which appear to be of the Pomeranian teacup breed, Kim wrote on Instagram: "Sister puppies for North & P! Penelope named hers honey. What should we name ours? (sic)"
Kim - who also has 18-month-old son Saint with her 'Famous' rapper husband Kanye West - also took a video with North's puppy kissing her neck, and asked: "You guys how cute is North's little puppy? What shall we name you?"
Kourtney, 38, also shared a picture of Honey on Instagram.
She simply captioned the photo: "Her name is honey (sic)"
Between them the Kardashian/Jenner family own a number of pets.
Kourtney - who also has sons Mason, six, and Reign, two, with former partner Scott Disick - has a bunny called Snowflake and Khloe Kardashian, 32, has looked after the family's Labrador retriever Gabbana.
And their half-sister Kylie Jenner owns a number of dogs ,and has even set up an Instagram profile for her Italian Greyhounds Norman and Bambi.
However, despite having had so many animals over the years, Kim previously admitted she isn't really a lover of pets.
She previously wrote on social media: "My fam has had SO many pets over the years, from dogs to rabbits and even a peacock named Peter Pan, LOL. The funniest thing is, I'm not the biggest animal person; sure, I love cute fluffy kittens but I don't die to constantly have a pet."
