Following months of speculation, Yas Marina Circuit and Flash Entertainment have jointly revealed that global music icon Lionel Richie will get the crowds singing as part of his ‘All The Hits World Tour’ at the Yasalam Saturday night After-Race Concert.

The concert, which will be hosted at the du Arena, Yas Island, during the 2016 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was announced via an exclusive video message from the artiste, alongside the CEOs from Flash and Yas Marina Circuit.

Richie will take to the du Arena stage on Saturday November 26 performing hits from his extensive and much loved repertoire, spanning decades all the way from the Commodores to the present day.

With a celebrated career including over 100 million albums worldwide and countless awards, including four Grammys, a Golden Globe and an Oscar, Richie’s shows are renowned for their party atmosphere and singalong moments.

He recently wowed crowds at Bonnaroo, Life Is Beautiful as well as Glastonbury in 2015 where he drew a record breaking crowd.

On Friday November 25, fans will see the legendary duo The Chemical Brothers kicking off the weekend in style.

Wrapping up the weekend festivities with an unmatched bang is global superstar Rihanna, who will play the only Middle East date on her ‘Anti World Tour’ on Sunday, November 27.

“The announcement of today’s Saturday night artist completes another really strong line-up for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

“With something for everyone, it underlines our effort to always improve and build so our Grand Prix stays one of the best in the F1 calendar.  Of course, it remains a huge event for the region and we look forward to another sell-out and exciting F1 weekend." said Al Tareq Al Ameri, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit.

UAE residents and international travellers are being urged to buy their race tickets or risk missing out on the spectacular Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, as many popular ticket categories are already sold out.

“Yasalam is the largest entertainment festival in the region and has built a legacy for Abu Dhabi and the community. Its diverse programme of music, sports and community activities across the capital makes it a draw for residents and visitors alike,” said John Lickrish, CEO, Flash Entertainment.

He continued: “With the legendary music talent Lionel Richie completing the exceptional three-day line up, we know the Yasalam weekend will be on the top of everyone’s calendar and we can’t wait to announce the Beats on the Beach acts.”

Yasalam forms a programme that unites Abu Dhabi in excitement and celebration and is the largest entertainment festival run by any race host city in the world.

The festival includes weeks of activations and to date has created incredible memories for over 2.5 million people.

Even more festivities are yet to be revealed, including the highly-anticipated Beats on the Beach line up – the largest free concert experience in Abu Dhabi.

All ticket holders will have free access to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld, Abu Dhabi.

Available for the first time, and valid across the race weekend, Formula 1 ticket holders will this year be able to access the two world-class theme parks on each corresponding day of their F1 ticket.
