Pregnant pause: Vidya Balan plays hide and seek with media

Did Indian actress Vidya Balan lie through her teeth when asked about being pregnant?

There were rumours all through the promotions of 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects' that Vidya was 'expecting' not just a hit movie but a lot more personally.

When asked, Mrs Siddharth Roy Kapoor firmly denied and quashed all the rumours about her pregnancy saying “No, I am not pregnant".

But all she did was try hard to keep something under wraps, literally.

The actress has been sporting dresses during the recent promotional trail and her unflattering cover-up act altogether had a different 'Side Effects'.

Vidya’s visit to doctors raised quite a few eyebrows. But she was in denial mood and said no stork will be visiting her anytime soon.

But here's the latest, Balan has pulled out of both the films she had in her kitty - Sujoy Ghosh's next co-starring Irrfan Khan and Mohit Suri's 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' with Emraan Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao.
Her last two films, 'Ghanchakkar' and 'Shaadi Ke Side Effects', did not live up to the expectations and rumour has it that the actress wants to evaluate her future plans.

Ghosh, who was scheduled to roll with the film in May, is obviously a worried man.

Indian media reports that, since Vidya is on her way to embrace motherhood, Sujoy Ghosh had to hunt for another actress and zeroed in on Kangana Ranuat to replace the talented actress.

After Kangana's outstanding performance in 'Queen' there could not have been a better actor to replace Vidya.

The fate of 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' is still unclear since Vidya had asked for the details of the film before she left for the US for the IIFA awards promotions.

Vidya may do the film with the Bhatts as it has been pushed back because of Emraan's son's health issue.

But she is definitely taking a break.

Vidya has put on a few kilos recently but still denies her pregnancy rumours.

We wish both Vidya and Kangana the very best and wait for both - the baby and the film.
