Salman Khan’s 'Dabangg 2' to release on Dec 21

Salman Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer ‘Dabangg 2’ finally has a release date.

‘Dabangg 2‘is half-way through and will hit the theatres on 21 December.
 
The film is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster of the same name and is being directed by Salman’s younger brother Arbaaz Khan.
 
Arbaaz broke the news on Twitter, “'DABANGG 2' is slated for an end of the year Christmas release.. 21st Dec 2012”.

He continued, "Well for all the Chulbul Pandey fans… ‘Dabangg‘ 2 is almost 60 percent complete, we resume shoot after the promotion and release of ‘Ek Tha Tiger‘."
 
It stars Salman in his familiar role as Chulbul Pandey the protagonist of the first film.
 
'Dabangg' was also Sonakshi's debut film and she will be returning as Salman's love interest Rajo in the sequel as well.
 
Kareena Kapoor is slated to do an item number to be choreographed by Farah Khan.

Reportedly Kareena's item song is a North Indian folk dance composed by Sajid-Wajid.

After successfully producing 'Dabangg', Arbaaz is now venturing into direction.

'Dabangg 2' will mark his directorial debut. He donned the director's hat after Abhinav Kashyap walked out of the franchise.
 
Abhinav who directed 'Dabangg' was not very happy about the over-‘involvement’ of the Khan family in his sphere.

‘Dabangg 2’ comes after the roaring success of ‘Dabangg’.
 
It was the highest grossing film of 2010 and it set a record of earning 80.87 crore in its first week, thus becoming the highest opening week grossing Bollywood film.
 
With the success of ‘Dabangg’, Salman’s career reached new heights.
 
He came out with three consecutive hits, including ‘Dabangg’, ‘Ready’ and ‘Bodyguard’.
 
All three films did well commercially and took home all the awards as well.
 
It's been a good run for Salman thus far and fans hope he will continue with his winning streaks with upcoming movie 'Ek Tha Tiger and 'Dabangg 2'.
