The king of entertainment in India, Shah Rukh Khan, is back in UAE's property business and launched a Dh2.3 billion The Royal Estates project in Dubai on August 6.

Undoubtedly one of the most talented actors in Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan charmed the crowd during a gala dinner in Madinat Jumeirah.

One lucky lady got the best gift ever on her birthday when the superstar himself sang "Happy Birthday" to her.

But king Khan was not alone; SRK was accompanied by his interior designer wife Gauri Khan.

The actor looked dapper in his black suit and complimented Gauri who was elegant in her magenta floor length evening gown. She kept her hair loose with soft waves and finsihed her look with a dark eye make-up.

The second richest actor in the world SRK addressing the crowd pitches for ‘affordable’ houses in Dubai.

"I am a lower middle class guy... if I wanted a house, a house to myself, what would it be like? Please try to make it affordable and try to have a kitchen as a central theme,” Khan said as he officially launched the Dh2.3-billion Royal Estates project.

Shah Rukh spoke about the project to 600 specially invited guests from India, Pakistan, Canada and the UK.

In fact, Gauri will be handling the home decor for some of the townhouses in this plush 2.3 million-square-foot gated community, located in Dubai Investments Park.

The couple, who own a home on Palm Jumeirah, are regular visitors to Dubai, and Gauri even partnered with the Dubai-based design company The First Ferry earlier this year.

But this time the couple experienced the hospitality of the Madinat Jumeirah.

Sources close to the Indian superstar, coordinating his business trip to Dubai – for the launch of a property project said, “He will be keeping a low profile today (Aug 6), because there is this huge launch dinner in the evening.”

However, for his legions of fans here in the UAE, the chance to catch a glimpse of Shah Rukh Khan might present itself tomorrow (Aug 7).

“He will definitely visit the Palm Jumeirah,” the source said.

The Royal Estate, is a collaboration between property developers Aristocratic Star, PAL Developments and Pacific Ventures.

Los Angeles-based architect Tony Ashai of Ashai Design Corporation is the designer of the project.

Khan will be the face of the luxury township, which includes 2000 units, an office complex and a hotel, and he has called it “a stellar community which ensures uncompromised elegance, comfort and safety”. Project sales will commence on August 7.
