Shah Rukh Khan maintains calm over Roshan statement

Despite filmmaker Rakesh Roshan’s angry bursts against him Shah Rukh Khan is maintaining peace and calm.

Rakesh Roshan, the producer of the forthcoming film Kaabil alleged that Shah Rukh Khan the hero and one of the producers of the film Raees is trying to destroy the film industry by preponing the release date of his film a day earlier than the scheduled worldwide release of the film from January 26 to 25, 2017. Roshan who is producing Kaabil starring his son Hrihtik Roshan and directed by Sanjay Gupta, had earlier preponed the date of the release by introducing evening shows on Kaabil on January 25 all over India.

Subsequently, Raees producer Ritesh Sidhwani preponed the date by introducing morning and regular shows of Raees.

Roshan in an interview to a Mumbai tabloid said that this move from the Raees makers was “destroying the film industry.”

“We do not announce dates randomly. We shot the film in 2015, put the trailer out in 2016 and are releasing it in 2017. We took the opportunity of announcing the date at the trailer release because it was a marketing idea,” says Khan.

Khan was very calm and avoided any confrontation with Roshan Sr, who in fact has cast him earlier in films like Karan Arjun and Koyla. Hrithik too is a close friend of Shah Rukh and has worked with him in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Interestingly SRK too has done a cameo dance number in the Rakesh Roshan produced Krazzy 4 which also had a Hrithik Roshan cameo dance number.  Hrithik later returned the favour by doing a cameo in Don 2 starring Shah Rukh Khan.

Producer Ritesh Sidhwani was also one of the people behind films Lakshya, Luck By Chance and Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara which starred Hrithik Roshan.

One did feel that there would be sparks flying during the release. But just when it seemed like turning into a battle, SRK has decide to take it calm.

SRK’s films like Om Shanti Om and Dilwale too have had clash issues when they released along with Saawariya and Bajirao Mastani respectively – both films by producer-director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
