Sonam stars opposite ‘Kolaveri Di’ Dhanush

South star Dhanush of ‘Kolaveri Di’ fame confirmed that he had signed a Bollywood film.

“Yes, I’m doing a film here. It’s titled ‘Raanjhnaa’. And it will be directed by Aanand L Rai,” confirmed Dhanush.

Aanand L Rai’s last film was the Kangna Ranaut and Madhavan starrer ‘Tanu Weds Manu’. Dhanush says Sonam Kapoor will play the female lead in the film.

Interestingly, Sonam has been tight-lipped about the film and working with Dhanush, in spite of several questions posed at recent events.

Prod Dhanush about what he thinks of Sonam as an actor and he says, “I think it’s too soon for me to judge the kind of actor that she is. But I would love to work with her. I’ll work with her and get to know her better. For now, all I can say is, she has a very expressive face. I’m sure she is capable of doing much better than what she’s done so far.”

Apparently, the film is set against the backdrop of the Indian city Banaras, Uttar Pradesh. Which means Dhanush might have to work really hard to fit into the character of a UP boy, especially in terms of his dialect and dialogue delivery, and of course work on his Hindi fluency.

‘Kolaveri’ might have given him the ticket to Bollywood, but we have to see if he proves as successful with his acting skills in B-town.
