Sharif revealed further insight into the upcoming film's local shoot and it's economic impact.

"The 'Star Trek' shoot alone saw $32 million or Dh117.5 million spent in Dubai; that's the level of its economic impact," said Sharif.

According to DFTC, 1,000 local crew members were hired, while 2,000 extras were ‎roped in after three days of audition.

Sharif added: "We had 10,000 square feet of wardrobe, with local tailors hired to fill in for the job.

"Even the the steel for the sets was sourced from Jebel Ali Ports, and when that ran out, we switched to Sharjah and Ajman."

When quizzed about hosting a 'Star Trek' premiere in Dubai, Sharif confirmed one is already being planned.

He continued: "We will certainly ‎host a premiere in Dubai, but we are still in talks to see if we can fly down the stars here.

"The film is tentatively releasing around July 22, so we have plenty of time to plan this out."

The stars themselves were seen on the 1.10-minute reel calling Dubai a 'futuristic city' with Karl 'Bones' Urban saying: "I would love to return to Dubai to film here again."

‎When asked about future Hollywood projects, Sharif admitted Paramount Pictures was keenon returning, however DFTC was being selective to pick a script on a grand scale, much like 'Star Trek' or its predecessor, 'Mission Impossible 4'.
