The mercury is likely to rise in the coming days, as Dubai plays host to a double date with Bollywood diva Sunny Leone.
The one-time adult film star will be arriving in Dubai for a special club event on April 19, followed by a free concert special appearance a week later, on April 25.
Fans couldn’t be more thrilled.
Her latest hip shaking will occur at the Imax Meydan, where Leone will groove to the beat of ‘Laila’, while joined by her cast from the upcoming ‘Shootout at Wadala’.
Yes, for those curious, that means the hunky John Abraham will join her on stage, along with Anil Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Sophie Chaudhry and Pakistani singer, Mustafa Zahid.
Organised by Essar Events, Rashid Saeed, managing director, said: “People love Sunny Leone and when we decided to host this ‘Shootout at Wadala’ mini concert, it was natural for the filmmakers and us to ensure she returned to Dubai for her many fans.
“But the event will not just see Sunny on stage, but the stars of the Bollywood film also, who will perform, sing and enact dialogues from their movie. Plus, the event will be open to the public, so fans can see their favourite stars without spending hundreds of dirhams in the bargain.”
Meanwhile, Emirates 24|7 had earlier reported on Leone’s gig at Chi @The Lodge on April 19, which will see her greet fans while being lowered in a special ‘cage’ to create, we believe, a more dramatic set up for her followers.
The earlier event, which has been organised by Premier Production House, saw CEO Javed Shafi, reveal details about the ‘caged’ event, saying: “Sunny will perform to three or four popular Bolllywood numbers and interact with the crowds for at least 30 minutes.
“There is also a surprise act planned, which will only be revealed on the night itself.”
Explaining more on the caged concept, Shafi said: “We wanted to create a new concept for introducing Sunny Leone to her fans in Dubai and that’s when we hit upon the cage idea.”
However, while this event is planned for April 19, a special and exclusive dinner will be hosted on April 17, with Leone in the flesh, with special invites up for grabs with Premier.
Canadian national Leone, who’s real name is Karenjit Kaur Vohra, burst on to Indian television screens back in 2011 when she was roped in as the surprise entrant into the reality TV show, ‘Big Boss 5’ house.
During her brief stint there, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt entered the premises to sign her on in her debut Bollywood films, ‘Jism 2’, directed by daughter Pooja Bhatt.
The adult star has also signed Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Ragini MMS 2’ and will be seen in May on screens in her item song, ‘Laila’ from ‘Shootout at Wadala’.
Earlier this week, the siren also made headlines after signing on as a brand ambassador for an energy drink in India for a reportedly whopping Rs15 million.
She is married to Daniel Weber, who is also her business manager.
