'Welcome Back' conquers box office in India, Pakistan

Anees Bazmee's 'Welcome Back' is a riot at the cash registers in India.

A sequel to 2007 blockbuster 'Welcome'; the reception in Pakistan has also been record breaking.

While in India, it saw a staggering box office collection amounting to Rs 14.35 crore on Day 1, on Day 2, the film earned Rs 17.05 crore. On its first Sunday, 'Welcome Back' was welcomed at the movies with Rs 19.60 crore.

According to the producers of the film, 'Welcome Back' has seen a massive box office collection in Pakistan in its first two days. The box office figures from the neighbouring country are Rs 3.4 crore. A tweet from Eros Now read:

Eros Now: "RECORD BREAKING opening for #WelcomeBack in #Pakistan Total collections for the first two days was Rs.3.4 Cr (Pakistani Rs.) #Houseful."

Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal return as Majnu Pandey, Uday Shetty and Dr Ghunghroo in additions to the cast include John Abraham as Ajju Bhai, Shruti Haasan, Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia and Shiney Ahuja.

'Welcome Back' starts where its predecessor had ended. The tale of two gangster-turned-gentlemen brothers-in-arms Majnu Bhai and Uday Shetty forms the core of the story.

While Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar have reprised their roles from the original, 'Welcome Back' sees John Abraham stepping in instead of Akshay Kumar and Shruti Haasan in place of Katrina Kaif.
