Ultra Raisani presents the legendary godfather of house music, Frankie Knuckles, at Sanctuary, Atlantis The Palm on Thursday for a night of pure mayhem.
 
Grammy Winning DJ/Producer, Knuckles is a pioneer and legend in dance music form and the man that brought the music genre house into life.

Warm up will be provided my Sanctuary resident DJ Tim Kay. The terrace will feature urban/hip hop with DJ Mass Ramli.

Biryani Muqabala Cooking Competition at Arabian Courtyard Hotel

How about reviving that lazy Friday afternoon by digging into some delicious fare at the Mumtaz Mahal, Arabian Courtyard Hotel, Dubai?
 
The popular Indian restaurant is hosting a Biryani Muqabala or competition where a live cook off will decide who is the Queen of the kitchen. 
 
Whether it’s a family recipe passed down through generations, or a secret formula tried and tested to perfection, the Biryani is a classic dish loved by foodies and families the world over.
 
From Iran to Sri Lanka, Hyderabad to Karachi, everyone has his or her own style of this classic delight. So now the challenge is on, whose creation will be crowned the Best Biryani?!
 
The champion will be crowned after a high-pressure live cook off in front of a panel of judges. Up for grabs is a pearl necklace from Diwan Jewels. And if you aren’t participating, you can simply dig into the yummy food.

Bakefest Dubai at Wild Peeta, Dubai Convention Centre

After the Biryani cook off, there is definitely call for a sweet tooth craving and nothing beats the Bakefest Dubai, a community event that has been put together by the city’s only Twitter community.
 
Making its second appearance, this event features community bakers and foodies coming together to sample home baked goodness, as well as, getting to know each other.
 
The event takes place at the new Wild Peeta restaurant located adjacent to the Dubai World Trade Centre.
 
Bakes selling their goodies are allowed one table from 11:30 am onwards. If you love food and meeting cool new people, make sure you attend.
 
Ne-Yo Live at Chi@The Lodge

So agreed, this is not exactly a weekend event, considering it’s a Sunday, but why split hairs when we have a chance to catch the super-talented Ne-Yo live in concert.
 
Presented by King Entertainment, the songwriter/arranger/vocalist will be playing at Chi Garden to what we are sure will be a packed house.
 
Born Shaffer Smith in Arkansas and raised in Las Vegas, Ne-Yo started in the music industry came as a songwriter. Prior to exiting his teenage years, he penned material for Youngstown and broke through in 2004 with Mario’s “Let Me Love You,” one of the most-played songs on urban radio stations across the US.
 
“In My Own Words”, the second album he recorded but the first one to be released, came out in early 2006 and reached the top of the charts, supported by the number one hit “So Sick”; and there has been no looking back since.
 
Other songs to include on your playlist before heading out are Beyonce’s  “Irreplaceable” and Rihanna’s “Unfaithful”.
