Do you illegally download your favourite movie online and watch it for free? And do you care if you’re committing a crime?

Well, you’re not alone! It’s what most people are upto today, as digital piracy has taken over the world big time and it’s increasing at an accelerated pace.

And while millions of popular movies were downloaded last year, none of them beat Martin Scorsese's 'The Wolf of Wall Street', which earned the title of the most pirated film of 2014.

According to piracy-tracking company Excipio, the Oscar-nominated film was illegally downloaded more than 30 million times, narrowly beating Disney's animated fantasy hit 'Frozen' by 116,000 torrent downloads.

Owning third place was the classic 'RoboCop', with a little less than 29.9 million illegal downloads, followed by Sandra Bullock’s space drama 'Gravity' downloaded under 29.4 million times.

Racking up more than 20 million illegal downloads among pirated films were a number of superhero flicks such as 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' and 'Thor: The Dark World'.

Illegally downloaded 23.7 million times was the Oscar best film '12 Years a Slave', while 'American Hustle' was pirated 23.1 million times.

After this sneak peek of which were the top pirated films last year, here is Excipio's list in full, featuring a range of drama, sci-fi, fantasy and superhero films.
