Kaká confirmed as global face of Fifa 11

Footballers Kaká and Wayne Ronney have been confirmed as the new cover guys of the Fifa 11 videogame, due out later this year.

Clearly the game’s manufacturer, Electronic Arts Inc, came up with those two before their shockingly poor performances at the 2010 Fifa World Cup.

Brazilian international Kaká – who plays for Spanish club Real Madrid – will be the global face of the game, while Manchester United’s Rooney will grace the cover of the British version.

Both stars will apparently team up with 16 other global players for a television commercial that will begin airing in September. The game will be released on October 1 in the UAE.

With 28-year-old Kaká appearing in the game wearing the 2010-2011 Real Madrid kit, it seems highly likely that the footballer will stay with the club for at least one more year.

Kaká has been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu this summer following the arrival of Jose Mourinho, who is reportedly lining up Werder Bremen’s Mesut Oezil as his replacement. However, clubs such as Chelsea have already ruled out making a bid for the player. And with him being announced as the face for Fifa 11 – a brand that would bring great publicity to Real Madrid – Kaká could prove to be too valuable to lose right now.
