An unprecedented experience that integrates mind-body-soul harmony with the exhilarating delights of the marine world comes alive every Saturday of this month, from 8am to 9am at Emaar Entertainment’s Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo in The Dubai Mall.

Hosting the first ‘Underwater Yoga’ Retreat, in The Tunnel, which offers close encounters with the exotic and diverse aquatic species in Dubai Aquarium, will witness the coming together of yoga enthusiasts and experts for a one-hour long yoga session.

Open to the public, with only limited admission for up to 35 participants, the Underwater Yoga Retreat will feature four sessions that draw their theme from water. The sessions – Go with the Flow, Ride the Wave, Taking the Plunge and Calming Waters – will be led by yoga experts.

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo’s ‘Underwater Yoga’ Retreat is exceptional for its remarkable partnerships with Piloga Studio Pilates and Yoga as the main sponsor and supported by Lululemon, Raw Pressery and VitaCoco.

The ‘Underwater Yoga’ Retreat will kick off with the first session on Sept. 9 on ‘Taking the Plunge’ led by experts at Piloga Studio Pilates and Yoga, which focuses on a strong ‘vinyasa’ flow where individuals will partner up and try handstands, forearm stand and headstand.

On Sept. 16, the session on ‘Go with the Flow’ will incorporate funky transitions from posture to posture while using breath control while the session on ‘Ride the Wave’ on Sept. 23 is a vinyasa class focused on balance principles. The final session on ‘Calming Waters’ to be held on Sept. 30 will start with 10 minutes of breathing practices and medication followed by a gentle stretch to release tension at the physical and mental levels.

Among the experts leading the retreat are Alison McLaughlin, Melissa Dahlia Ghattas, Omar Sultani and Dina Cassir Kfoury.

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo’s ‘Underwater Yoga’ Retreat is priced Dh120 per session and Dh450 for all four classes. Participants will be provided free yoga mats and free all-natural juices from Raw Pressery as well as refreshing Coconut Water provided by VitaCoco.

Those who book also stand to win Lululemon Yoga apparel worth Dh1,000 are selected every Friday from the online booking list through a lucky draw. The event is live-streamed on the Facebook page of Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo and uploaded on its YouTube page.
